Kiehls rare earth deep pore cleansing mask

Skincare review :

Khiels rare earth deep pore cleansing mask is one of their best sellers -currently selling at rm100 in malaysia.

According to kiehls Facebook fan page , this product is back in stock after a long wait ... Which is Approximately 3 months .

Since I had a sudden emerge of obvious blackheads and oily skin around my t zone area, I decided to give deep cleansing mask a try .

"RARE EARTH PORE CLEANSING MASQUE
Our Rare Earth masque helps purify and detoxify skin while minimizing the appearance of enlarged pores. Formulated with Amazonian White Clay to gently draw out oil, dirt and toxins that can clog pores.

Key ingredients:  BEHN-tuh-nite’
Bentonite, found in Canada and the Midwest, is a colloidal aluminum silicate clay. It is used as a suspending agent in a variety of skin care formulas including lotions and makeup. Because it absorbs oil, it is often used as a facial mask to reduce shine. Also helps to stabilize formulas. See also: Kaolin." - Khiels

Looking at the product, it's a greyish cream like texture . After cleansing out face, put a thin layer of kiehls rare earth deep pore cleansing mask on your whole face ( if you have oily skin) , or on the T zone if u have combination skin( so that it won't dry up your skin).
Wait for 10 mins and wash it off .
Then voila ! You are done and could continue with you usual skincare routine .

Based on differing reviews , I am afraid that it might not work as well on me as different people have a different skin type . Therefore, I requested a sample from the one utama kiehls outlet .

Once apply on my nose, I could feel some mild stinging sensation, though it's till bearable . However , my forehead is quite comfortable with it and  it is very easy to wash off .

Given 3 tries on my t zone area . I think it did clear the blackheads that stay and the surface and force some of the inner one out so it's easier to squeeze it out. However it does not really clean all blackheads on my nose, maybe because it's very deep inside and stubborn . Hmm...
I think I should invest in a blackhead squeezer to see whether it will aid my process in cleaning my pores .

What I have noticed is that After first application , The blackheads in my nose is visibly lesser and smoother . But then after 3 use in 3 weeks , I can see that my nose had been getting dryer where there are peeling slightly. Therefore I would recommend not to leave it on your face for too long, 8 minutes is enough in my opinion .

In conclusion , I think kiehls rare earth deep pore cleansingmask is quite good in cleaning the skin but it will still be drying if you have a dry skin and it might sting abit if you have sensitive skin.

P/s: as of 22/12 , kiehls klcc said they have no more stock on this. Though you girls could still give it a try if you sis pass by it in klcc .

Yeast bistronomy @ jalan telawi 2 ,bangsar

After a long day , expensive French cuisine is not your first choice . Anyways, off to Yeast bistronomy we go . Internet review seems to suggest that the place is to be very full , going there  without a reservation at peak dinner hour seems bleak . But count my lucky stars we were lucky enough to get in . Service was good,  really good .

The menu ... Well it's not really a menu . There was a fish dish, chicken dish, lamb dish , scallop dish , beef dish . Well that's about it for entrees. Pasta dishes are not things I pay attention to so let's move on to the actual review .
Open kitchen  of  yeast bistronomy
For starters , we had escargot and mint pea soup with duck gratin . The escargot were over cooked but compared to all the others you can get in town it's edible . This can be contributed to the balance provided through the sauce and sauerkraut .

The soup was much better comparatively . The mint wasn't too overpowering and the soup was nice and creamy . Smooth is what I would use to describe something so excellent .

The bread that was given for free is as you would expect from a French bakery . Nice and crunchy from the outside , soft and fluffy on the inside . One was a classic baguette and the other one was a spiced up version of the same . The sesame and other spice addition into such a classic was a unique experience .

Onto entrees . We ordered the scallop with mash potatoes. This is what the layman would call it and I would not try to remember what it was  called  because let's be honest  no body remembers anyway .  The scallop were undercooked being transparent in the middle and the creamy mash potatoes had a very fragrant mushroom smell. On the scale of 1 to 10 , I would give it a 6 because the main item was undercooked and lacked any real flavour .

We also ordered the roast chicken with roasted potatoes and beans . The potatoes were excellent but that's about it . The beans were way overcooked  to the point where they were mush . The chicken had this weird smell that I just cannot get . On the scale of one to ten , I give it a 5 . The chicken just didn't match my expectation .

For dessert we had the chocolate soufflé with raspberry sorbet . The sorbet was good and the soufflé was good but combined together it felt a little bit like I was drinking a very weird lukewarm soup which given the excellence of the two products separately was another let down .

They did let us try a new dish which was duck with egg pastry . it was better than all the other dishes which I think given the amount of  money I paid , just not right.

We also ordered a pineapple mojito because it was a nice Saturday evening . But the alcohol smell was overpowering that  I could not enjoy the taste of the pineapple . Furthermore, the fact that they completely crush all the mint leaves made trying to enjoy the a clean sensation in the mouth difficult .

In conclusion , I would give the restaurant     A 7 out of 10 because it is a great place to go for evening tea but for actual meals, I think it is mostly just passable as French cuisine
